New Start........

Well, life changes and opportunities come an go, I’m a air conditioning controls engineer by trade and have not had much work for a while, being fed up of travelling for work, I have been very picky. Anyway, I decided to set up a studio for my own use and hire, it’s 800 square feet and on a brand new development, I have been working like mad fitting a laminate floor, kitchen and back drop doofers, but I got there, it’s done, I now have a studio! I am just waiting for some furniture and lighting gear to arrive and it will be up and running. In the few weeks it has taken me, I have had 14 offers of contract employment, funny world eh?

Well, I’m a 42 year old blog virgin who is loving this site for sure. I thought that since I have read most of the blogs, followed a lot of the links and know more about you lot than is healthy that it only courteous that I formally introduce myself.

I’m Derek Pearce, I live in the Cotswold Hills in the UK, I’m married to Jayne and have two daughters Charlotte (14) and Danielle (12) we also have the pleasure of the company of two cats, Snoopy and Scrabble. I have been into photography on and off since I was about 12, my parents got me an old Practica PL Nova, which was my most coveted possession for a long while. When I started working life I soon discovered the allure of Canon and have not strayed, I now use a EOS 1D Mk2, which is my most coveted possession (see the pattern) and don’t see myself changing in the near future.
