Finally buying a new camera - 50D or 7D?

I have always been a Canon girl, and now I am finally in a position to get a new camera. What I can't decide is which to get. A 50D will use all my lenses, batteries ect, but a 7D has a few more megapixels. It also has video which I could care less about, I just wonder if the 7D is really worth the extra money in the end. The higher end models are still way out of my budget range, so not even an option. If I got the 50D I could also afford a macro lens and a shutter release, a decent flash, and a few more goodies.
Any opinions out there?

So good to see things brighten up around here! I love the contest idea, but mostly running out of things to say as much of the art around here is truly great! About that critique poll, I personally like having my images critiqued regardless if someone says good things or hey that needs some work. I think most of us would say the same thing. The only thing I can't stand is malicious people who just want to say mean things. I guess it's all about intention. Are you trying to help or give advice, or are you full of yourself and just want to be an ass? I haven't seen anyone on this sight who was malicious, but I have encounted these types of idiots other places, and those I could really do without.

Haven't been around much, but I couldn't see wasting space. Haven't picked up the camera much except to take your everyday snapshots, nothing profound - till I took the ham out of the freezer. Life has been busy trying to get my health in order blah blah blah.... boring stuff like such. Just a note of explanation to those who care to read it.

Just a funny happening I noticed today. Someone went through my personal website ( which I won in a contest ) and voted on my images, leaving all 0's. Its a scale of 0 to 5, 0 being the worst of course. If I had my way, they wouldn't even be open to votes, but that is how the website came, and it was free so I can't complain really. I guess they must have gotten tired because only about half the images there were voted on! LMAO! I don't have a clue who or why, but I actually thought it was hillarious, so thanks for the entertainment! You see some friends of mine once offered some good advice.....So you can't get my goat anymore - its out on the lawn mowing the grass!

What a day of discovery this has been for me! I am so enthused right now I must apologize if I ramble!!!
First of all I have gotten a few critiques by The Critic! I have been searching for comments like this forever! Not that I dont enjoy everyone's comments, because I do, but this guy provided me with a WEALTH of knowledge! More brain food so to speak. And yes one photo was called my worst - AND I LOVED THAT! I didn't think so when I posted it. I read what was said and I looked at it some more, keeping in mind what was said. Looked at it some more and thought - yeah - it IS a pretty crappy pic! So what in the world was I thinking??? But from that pic came more information for me to use the next time I go out and shoot!!!! Just like Eury's comments on Los's erotic photo - I tried to keep in my mind the things she had said to him, to help me out in taking my first nudes.

Just a note for anyone who cares to read. Some of who I am and what makes me tick. I am silly and immature, even at 33 with 3 kids. At the same time I have lived enough of a hard life to be wise beyond my years in many aspects. I can throw fits when I dont get my way, and I get my feelings hurt easily. I take too much personally even when I know I shouldnt. I am bipolar and have OCD - and take meds for it. Sometimes they dont work. I dont hold a "real" job outside my home because I dont play well with others. That is why I freelance - no one in my way - just do what I am ask and submit from home.

This one is for those of you who choose for whatever reason to leave low votes and no comments as to why. Im not saying my work is glorious, but some of it is well, good enough to be selling all over the world. If you feel you have such superior knowledge to be handing out such low scores on my work - why not take the time to COMMENT as well and give your critique on the image. I know the "original" members of this site have never had a problem in giving a critique good or bad, that has nothing to do with whether or not they "like a person" or not. I adore many folks here, but if I had a nit with a work they posted I would voice it straight up.

LIFE UPDATES ITSELF

Fell off the wagon, some know what I mean, I am the hippychic after all. Dissapointed in myself, but not really. Does a coin marked 30 days make or break my life, not really. I have had one before and where is it now - dont know. So I start over, or do I? I dont know. I slept a sleep I havent had in ages, the kind you wake up from knowing you rested well, and I felt ready to take on the day. Some know what I have been through in the past few weeks - though I have sworn to myself not to put pics of my gallstones on the site.... but I would have put up the ovaries and appendix had the docs let me keep them.

You know its not often that you meet people in this life from your hometown, school, work, or even next door that you can call your friends or would even want to. And yes most people use the internet to meet people for dating or what have you and dont generally end up any more well off in the long run. But for me, over the past year or so, I have met men and women who I call my friends, who I care about genuinely, who I wish I lived next door to, and could bake cookies for. I have met some wonderful people who "get" me and give me a place to fit into. Young and old makes no difference. People I admire, who inspire me, motivate me, and keep me uplifted on the worst of my days.
