I am looking for a bit of advice on cleaning an acrylic painting that one of my sons has managed to leave a scrape mark on, it looks like dirt.

The image is not sealed.

Will water and a damp cloth do, I am worried about damaging the painting.

Try cleaning the painting with a soft brush and cotton pad and warm water. If it is dirt should come off with no problems. If the stain is still there a very deluted washing detergent can be used.
