2nd. thumb size versus pixel requirments don't match

The Polaroid Guy's picture

An image of 260x170 is 129K, not 70K when i goto upload it. If i make it 70K then the pixel req. are wrong. What's wrong?

You need to reduce the quality of the image by just a tad. What program are you using and what type of image are you trying to save? ie. jpg or gif, etc.

Photoshop / jpg
I tried both ways but it doesn't work.
260x170=129K
or
170x160=80K

I have noticed while saving as jpg in photoshop, on some images, that the estimated file size is higher than what it actually saves as. Of course all images are different, I've never had any problem with using about 8 on a scale of 0-12. The actual saved file size that is.

This ".png" file type is the way my 260x170 previews have to be saved to properly upload & I still use the .jpg file format for the 80x80 & full res versions, thanx

I've never had a problem saving the 260x170 images. I save them as a jpg at 60%

I don't have any trouble either. Do you use "Save for Web"? That strips off the metadata and reduces the files size nicely without a lot of effort.

I'll have to try the "Save For Web" way. Thanx
