Photography Contest Rules

Your submission to any Photography Contest must be taken by you, and any post-processing must be made by you.

Allowed:

  • You can use any feature of your camera while photographing.
  • In-camera features applied after the capture are subject to normal editing rules.
  • You can crop, rotate and resize your image.
  • You can clone out minor imperfections like power lines, dust specks, stray hairs, etc.
  • You can apply image adjustments like brightness, contrast, saturation, hue, blur, sharpen, dodge & burn, etc.
  • You can add a border to the outside edge of your entry.
  • You can use RAW conversion software.
  • You can use software to correct perspective, lens defects, or minor misalignments.
  • You can photograph works of art like paintings, graffiti, or statues, but it must be obvious that it is another piece of art.

    Not Allowed:

  • You cannot combine two or more images.
  • You cannot add anything to the image that was not originally captured with the camera.
  • You cannot add any text to the image or border.
  • You cannot make multiple accounts to vote on your image, or ask others to vote on your image.
  • While the contest is in the voting period, you may not submit the image to the General Gallery or indicate to others which image is yours in the contest.

    Any photograph entered into a contest on Artalyst is subject to disqualification and removal by the Administration due to violations of the rules by the letter, or by spirit.

    The contest entry will become part of the General Gallery after the contest has ended and will be eligible for the Featured Gallery like any other image.
