Means to an End
Jim Jim told me explicitly the crock was empty. Naturally I believed him, I say naturally, because Jim Jim was nothing if not honest. In the sixth grade he placed a thumb tack in Mrs Summer's chair; when she demanded
to know the culprit, he sprang to his feet and eagerly admitted to the deed. Almost as if he relished being caught. I mean he could have remained mute, she would have never known, but Jim Jim being the honest
one took the heat without hesitation. Looking back I think Mrs Summers waived punishment owing to his display of unbridled honesty. After completing Community College Jim Jim landed a sweet job as a fact checker.
As far as I know, he's still there to this day.
