I do have to admit, at first glance I immediately suspected that a filter (or several filters) were used here, which I have no problems with. You say that I was "manipulate by hand, not computer" which is very intriguing and makes me want to learn more about the process of what that entails! I love the Polaroid-esque border (not sure if it was an original Polaroid or not). The treatment here definitely suggests a toxic environment. I wold be interested to know the inspiration behind this.

The boarder is real. Polaroid boarders tend not to scan well to show the very fine diamond texture they have unless you want the image too dark. My inspiration was that the Masks we wear project the internal "Ids"/personalities locked deep within ourselves.
I was by the top of a metro escalader when she ascended to the top & I shot her, spontaneously ;)
Toxicity is omnipresent.

Polaroid manipulation has been around a long time. I've always admired those who have the artistic ability to do this and you are quite good at it! Are you still able to get Polaroid film? I know Polaroid was to discontinue producing it but I had heard another company would continue it's production.

Thanx & check out Polapremium.com
I think I may be the only one to ever earn my M.F.A. by doing it in Polaroid SX-70 manipulation.

Nice to know it's still at least somewhat available. My use of Polaroid consisted of using it in a 4X5 back to check exposure and composition on architectural shoots back in the pre-digital age. It could usually get you pretty much dead on with exposure though I'd always process a couple of the chromes to see if the rest need to be pushed/pulled to fine tune them. Again, nice work with the SX-70's! Especially the M.F.A.!!!!
