Girl in Red
Critique:
I would like an extensive critique of my image please. An uncompleted partial of a work-in-progress. I needed a large, red, landscape image for a room in the house and this is what I cam up with. I still need to work on the girl some, add more detail to the dress and etc. The background extends further to the left and right but is cropped out right now.

well, I love the idea and the beautiful red but I'm going to be really harsh and give a critique as I think you've not done all this work to not be happy with the end result.. and I know perfectly well what you are capable of .. so I have scribbled a few suggestions on your photo and did some quick tweaks to explain as I think these little adjustments will help you get the look you want and have a finished product that you will be very happy and proud of.
Instead of writing it all here, I am linking to my suggestions here: http://www.chezeury.com/quickies/ladyinredtweak.jpg
Ha! Thanks guys. I don't mind critiques. I know this by posting an unfinished work. I have my own problems with it too.
Dex, I meant landscape orientation, there it a lot more to the left and right of the girl. I just cropped this much out because I had somewhat finished it enough to post something.
Eury, yeah there are some proportion issues, I didn't see the head location problem though, I like what you have shown. Looks good.
There is also the lighting that needs taking care of. In the full size, the sun is further to the right, I just moved it for the crop (everything on layers ya know), but she needs some serious highlights along her edges and more dramatic contrast too.
Thanks, for all the suggestions. I love feedback.
phew! ... I know Jinx would critique my stuff all the time and sometimes (well, almost always..it was hard to hear .LOL) but I learned so much and always came away better for it. I'm glad you have thicker skin.
As for the head, I just nudged it a tiny bit..and I see that you want her to be tall and amazon-like (dang, I want to be like this too! :-D ) but although proud and strong, don't want her to come off looking stiff. I can't wait to see what you do with it and see the completed piece.
Yeah, just seeing a crop of her doesn't do the whole image justice. The full size is 60" wide. Her proportions will be exaggerated a little because I don't want the background and landscape to dominate her too much. And it is fantasy after all. At the same time, I don't want her to be a human/gazelle hybrid LOL. Exaggerated, not stiff is what I want, and thanks for the advice.
Wow don't believe I didn't see this before. Colors and lightingis stunning. but like the others say it needs better proportions on the girl.
