Mt. Watkins & Mirror Lake
Critique:
I would like an extensive critique of my image please. Yosemite National Park. Mirror Lake isn't really a lake. It's more of a pool of water that's part of Tenaya Creek. They say that every year it gets smaller and will eventually just be a meadow. This was shot in 2005.

Such a beautiful place. It may not be a lake, but since it is so quiet, the reflection effect is so mirrorlike, Incredible. I feel somehow that the image could use a tiny bit of counter clockwise rotation, but that may just be me, before having coffee. Nice work!
Thanks Eury. You know, I've struggled with whether or not I should rotate it. I did rotate an older version and it looked OK. But the trees are actually straight. I think it might be the shape of the water pool and the fact that there is not a straight shore line on the opposite side, but that it follows the river creating a visual illusion that its straight.
I pulled it into photoshop and rotated it very slightly.. 1.4 degrees CCW and it looks straight now to my eye. I think it's because the horizon line behind the first row of small trees needs to be straight.. doesn't matter if the shore line is straight or not.
I put a comparison shot on my website to show you the before and after, as you can see, the trees are still straight but the entire image now feels straight, does that makes sense? :-)

That looks great. Thanks for the tip. Like I said, I struggled with whether to straighten or not. This shot isn't all that great of quality to begin with. I shot it when I had the 20D for only about a month and was still getting a feel for it. The foreground is not sharp enough for a decent print larger than a 5x7. In fact, until I reworked it in with a number of layers in Bibble 5 recently, I could never get it look anything close to this good.
Powerful image man. Looks strong, beautiful, and very sharp.
