Let me first say that you look to me to be one of the old school artists. Few
artists today work much in natural media and not attempt any of the abstact
yet impressionist styles. Composition: Very difficult to tie down the
composition with this piece. There is an obvious abstractness about it. In
it's very definition it's against most rules. Creativity: Again,
really hard to put my finger on it. While to me it seems to mimic a known
style, I can really say I've seen many images like it. Subject: The
subject screams to me, "home in the fall". I imagine a northern urban
townhouse with the leaves falling outside with a slight nip in the air. The
color really builds on this with the frosty blues and red leaves. Looks like
you really put a lot of thought into the theme of the image, and how you
wanted the viewer to feel. Technical: I remember doing a pointallistic
drawing once, it was black and white and not in color though. I love the
circular areas that transition the textures. At the same time they help to
build a flat, 2d, type image though. That, along with the lack of contrast,
makes me squirm in my seat wanting to see this pop out at me more. I blame
the 3d world we live in personally. In my tastes, I want to see more contrast
in this. I think it would bring out more detail and help make it pop!
Image Quality: The quality here is good. With the level of detail
here, there is no fear of compression problems. As mentioned above though,
I'd like to see the contrast turned up a notch or two.
