Well, I think it's up to us to help that. Granted, we need to see some new traffic though. Personally, I've been working 60 hr weeks and haven't had much time to shoot. I'm hoping that changes in a few weeks when I complete the project I'm on.
Sure, part of it is up to us but I remember when Artalyst was a much busier place. I think it could definitely use some advertising. I have found photography sights around the internet but they are usually to "fluffy" or too damn serious. I think Artalyst is the perfect combination of both.

I can understand why you might feel that way. This site has been around for over 5 years now and gets just a little better each.... year :) It surprises me too how the traffic varies from month to month. I've said this before in one of the many other slumps, that: I've always had a dream of having my own art site, and it will always be here. It fades in and out of popularity, but it will still be here. And the "beta testers" will always have a free membership. - Truth is, I still need to spend about $5,000 on this before I bother advertising. I tried advertising, it's expensive, and was a waste of money at the time. I think it would be worth it to wait until it is finished. Could I be doing more in the meantime? Sure. I get lazy though, but periodically I do a little something here and there. As long as I'm not costing anyone any money besides myself, I don't feel TOO bad about it.
Absolutely Zee, we all get lazy from time to time. I think the Halloween thing on the entry page would make many just turn away though, why not just slap something up there?
Sites like FAR seem to thrive with very small membership fees, I know Artalyst is better and should be blooming, I understand the money thing though.
