I hate blogs. Blogs are the bane of the Internet. Why should anyone care what I have to say except me? There, I've said how I feel about blogs. That said I remind myself that "blog" is short for web log. The term blog has come to be associated with online versions of personal journals or diaries. IMO, true web logs are chronicles of web sites, as well as the activities and musing of the participants and most important, are subject specific.
I will never have a personal blog outside of this place. But this one is perfect. It's about photography and art and the thoughts of people who care about those things. That's interesting to me. I frequently have burning need to type out my thoughts in a public place. That doesn't always go over so big on some forums. I've become so engaged in my hobby over the past year or so, and have so much to say sometimes. I will thoroughly enjoy having a place to say it, and even more so, having people read it that might actually care about what I think. The time has gone. The song is over.
